ENGLISH:

 MALENCOLIE was born at the begin of the new century by the meeting between Mattia (drums) and Eden (guitar). At the half of 2000 also Jammo (lead guitar) and Geppo (vocals) joined the band and so the band start to write down own songs, in goth-rock style, influenced by bands like HIM, TIAMAT, PARADISE LOST. In the winter 2002 born the first demotape, “Unnatural silence”, totally self-produced work, made by six songs where Jammo played bass guitar too. At the half of the same year Eros (bass guitar) joined the band and soon he made a good work, and so MALENCOLIE could have three live concerts. The 2003 saw the band work very hard on tour with many live gigs and ended with the records of the new demotape , “Human ch.I”, which seems a little different as the first demo, adding influences of band as SENTENCED, TYPE O NEGATIVE e CATHEDRAL. On the first half of 2004 a sequence of live gigs support the “Human ch. I” exit and new songs born with the influences of MY DIYNG BRIDE, ANATHEMA, KATATONIA and MOONSPELL. At the end of August the line-up changed, the singer Geppo left the band, and the temporary line up see Jammo, yet backing vocals in “Human ch.I, try to sing as a lead vocals. After some gigs with Jammo as a singer, in spring 2005 Antonio joined MALENCOLIE and with him a new sequence of live gigs. In December of the same year Eros left the band leaving a big hole inside the band. At the start of 2006 Michele “Ze” joined MALENCOLIE as new bass player filling the hole left by Eros. February 2006 represent not a good month for the guys 'cause Eden and Antonio too dicide to left the band by personal project. Jammo back to the microphone, and the new songs have  more aggressive vocal lines (growl and screaming) and a black/death style.

ITALIANO:

I MALENCOLIE nascono all'inizio del nuovo secolo dall'incontro tra Mattia (batteria) e Eden (chitarra). A meta del 2000 anche Jammo (chitarra) e Geppo (Voce) si uniscono alla band cosicchè iniziano la stesura dei primi pezzi in uno stile goth-rock, influenzati da band in stile HIM, TIAMAT, e PARADISE LOST. Nell'inverno del 2002 vede la luce il primo demo, "Unnatural Silence", totalmente autoprodotto, composto da sei canzoni dove Jammo si occupa anche delle parti di basso. A metà dello stesso anno Eros (basso) entra a far parte dei MALENCOLIE e subito grazie al suo apporto la band si esibisce in tre date live. L'anno successivo vede la band lavorare veramente sodo, con molte date dal vivo e con la registrazione del nuovo demo "Human Ch. I", che suona differentemente dal vecchio demo grazie all'influenze di band come SENTENCED, TYPE O NEGATIVE e CATHEDRAL. nella prima metà del 2004 una sequenza di date live supportano l'uscita del nuovo demo e la stesura delle nuove songs trova influenze di band del calibro di MY DIYNG BRIDE, ANATHEMA, KATATONIA e MOONSPELL. Alla fine di agosto la line-up cambia, con l'uscita di scena del singer Geppoe la temporanea sostituzione del ruolo di cantante da parte di Jammo (gia backing vocals in Human Ch I.). Dopo alcuni concerti con Jammo alla voce, nella primavera del 2005 Jammo lascia il microfono ad Antonio, e di seguito una serie di sessioni live rodano il nuovo cantante. A dicembre dello stesso anno però la line up viene di nuovo messa a soqquadro con l'uscita dal gruppo da parte di Eros che viene sostituito all'inizo del 2006 da Michele "Ze". Febbraio 2006 è il mese peggiore passato dalla band, in quanto vede l'uscita di Eden e Antonio dovuta a progetti personali. Il testimone da vocalist torna in mano a Jammo, ma in maniera definitiva, e le nuove song vengono scritte con linee vocali più aggressive,  in maggior parte growl e screaming, e in uno stile decisamente più black/death.
